Oliver Ngy Brings Nomad & Big Bass Dreams To Texas
A Winter Bass Challenge.
We threw down a challenge to Big Bass Dreams founder Oliver Ngy: catch largemouth bass in the toughest conditions possible. He accepted - and delivered.
Fishing through a brutal Texas cold front with 25-knot winds and 35-degree temperatures, Oliver launched into a lake near La Grange, Texas, hoping a warm-water discharge would keep fish active. Armed with the Nomad Freshwater lineup, he quickly realized topwater baits like the Chug Norris and Dartwing wouldn’t get much play. Instead, the Atlas Squarebill, D-Trak Crankbait, Shikari Jerkbait, and Swimtrex Lipless Crank went into heavy rotation.
What began as a test for feedback turned into a freshwater smackdown with 29 fish landed across multiple Nomad baits. Even in freezing water and heavy wind, the new freshwater range exceeded expectations, proving their strength, balance, and fishability.

A seasoned angler and Bassmaster Opens competitor, Oliver was blown away by how well the Nomad lineup performed. Before the day was done, he was already planning the next session Clear Lake, California was calling.
Cold, windburned, and smiling, the team left Texas knowing one thing for sure: Nomad Freshwater is built to perform when conditions get real.
