Nomad Design Founder Damon Olsen talks through the Nomad range of rods and explains the actions and tapers and the design philosophy behind the range. If you want to know why these rods are different and what they are designed for, then this is the video for you.
Nomad Rods
Nomad Design Signature rods are the result of 20yrs of real-world R&D aboard Nomad Sport Fishing Charters. Tested with the best tackle in one of the toughest fisheries on earth, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef every rod is built from decades of on-water experience.
offshore spin
The Nomad Design Offshore Spin rods are the ultimate offshore casting weapons. Featuring a unique Helix30T45 blank construction method developed especially for these longer casting rods, they are lightweight but strong and will cast lures further and make it easier for you to work the lures suitable for each rod
inshore spin
The Nomad Design Inshore Spin rods are designed for working a variety of smaller lures and soft plastics. The tip is designed to be light enough to cast small lures, but stiff enough to impart action to the lure. The medium-fast taper allows enough strength in the butt section to provide stopping power when you need it.
slow pitch jig
Designed to be lightweight and responsive, our slow pitch jig range has the tip action to bring a slow pitch jig to life all day long and the power to get big fish away from the bottom. The Nomad Design Slow Pitch Jigging rods feature a slower taper but a more responsive tip section that has higher recovery in the blank and allows more action to be imparted to the jig.
heavy jig
Designed to be lightweight and responsive, our heavy jig range has a balanced design with the power to lean right into big fish and the finesse to work a jig for long periods. The Nomad Design Jigging rods feature medium tapers matched with a stiffer tip sections and super strong butt sections. This creates a lightweight rod that imparts extra action to the jig and is easier to fight fish with.
