How the Heavy Duty evolution is changing the game. 

With the desire to excel as the world’s number #1 trolling lure, the DTX minnow has taken on many changes since its initial form, but no bigger changes than the HEAVY DUTY evolution. Large lures call for large predatory fish and these fish test the strength, quality and product lifespan to the very limits. So what is Heavy Duty and what makes it better? When it comes to raw material needed to make hardbody lures not all lures are the same. We have sourced quality Heavy Duty ABS material from Japan featuring the strength and density required for longevity and combined with the internal Diamond Armour pattern improving strength and pressure resilience. Thicker internal walls and improved Ultrasonic welding joins have also been achieved during the manufacturing process. The Matrix Metal Plate System features a unique design incorporating a super hard stainless steel plate into the body mold of the lure. The plate is incorporated into the lure with a series of small holes at critical locations in the plate, allowing the molded plastic to weave through the metal plate and creates the ultimate in strength.

The DTX HD is fully connected through the body from tow point to tail, and the Hydro Speed eyelet design allows for super high trolling speeds. The DTX’s flagship feature is the Patented Autotune tow point and bib system, meaning this lure just keeps swimming straight and true, first time every time, no matter how many bites it takes.

All these improved design features and raw materials are only as good as the final product, and to make sure it will hold up to daily use and multiple fish we have gone far above any previous Quality checks prior to our product making it to market. In the build up to the DTX Heavy Duty development we wanted to understand what pressure depths the existing DTX’s could withstand and improve for the Heavy Duty model, so we invested in a Depth simulator pressure machine. We are now achieving 400+ PSI (300m water depth) at 1 minute testing from our Depth simulator which sets a new standard for DTX quality as well as a new standard for any Fishing lure brand in the market.
